Well Since We Are Discussing T.V. That Still Should Be In Production . . .

Well Since We Are Discussing T.V. That Still Should Be In Production . . .  I would like to bring up a show that was taken off the air after three seasons:  Arrested Development.  While I don’t have “regular” TV, nor have I for about 5 years now, I still managed to keep up with Arrested Development.  When I heard that show was being prematurely canceled after three seasons several items became apparent to me.  First is that in general Americans are dim-witted and could not follow the many jokes, quips and otherwise hilarious dialogue that pervaded the show.  When I asked my stepdaughter Emma what she thought about my position she said “I don’t know.”  Well neither do I.

Rarely have I ever seen a show that was so well cast and the actors were so in sync with each other.  Yes you had to pay attention during the show to get all of the jokes  and other witty sarcasm, but that was almost as fun as the comedy itself.  Perhaps all of the studies “they” (who ever they are) may have a point when they say that Americans have lost any form of concentration or attention span.  Anyways, because Arrested Development went for three seasons, I decided to put one clip from each season onto this post for your enjoyment.  Let’s hope that more, and not less, shows like Arrested Development are syndicated in the future do not become relics.

Just found your site – it’s funny and informative. I completely agree – I recently came across this show and thought it was hilarious. It definitely kept my attention and my boyfriend’s too. Too bad it’s no longer on the air. I think you’re right and “they” are right too – Americans have little or no attention span and lack real taste.

You’re welcome. I’ll keep that in mind. Are you looking for off-beat works only or mainstream, older, possibly forgotten movies and shows too?
Also, I see sometimes you have other people review things. Is that done just with your friends who enjoy film and are pre-approved? (I don’t think they’re professionals in the area.)
        thanks.

I prefer older forgotten movies as a matter of fact and I am open to anyone (as long as they are decent human beings) being a guest reviewer. You are correct in so far as the guest reviewers to date being friends and family so to speak. If you want to write one by all means do so. Just let me know which one it is because I like to have a clip for each movie reviewed. If you can send me the clip you want in your review all the better otherwise I will try and find the movie and get the clip you want. I would welcome your thoughts on a movie. JPF

Possibly; maybe “The Long Walk Home.” Do you know it? Not many people saw it, but it was excellent — acting, story, writing, etc.

Oh I didn’t know Sissy Spacek and Whoopi Goldberg were in it. By all means please review it. It looks like from the descriptions that it was a great movie but a real sleeper. Those are some of the best movies made. Let me know so I can get a copy of it and you can put a clip in (if you want to review it).
