Here Is A List of Our Movie Reviews and Links To Them For You Part I.

Greetings and salutations movie goers.  Below is a list of reviews here at jpfmovies and links to the posts. Please feel free to peruse the list and read some reviews.

In my quest to rid myself of rigidly formulaic American media, I was shocked to come across something from France: Engrenages (Translated as “Spiral” in English).

The Outlaw Jose Wales (1976): the film that spawned two bad things for Client Eastwood: Sandra Locke and the Director’s Guild’s new legislation, known as “the Clint Eastwood Rule.”

It’s my step-daughter sweet sixteen-birthday today so what else was there to watch: John Hughes 1984 classic 16 Candles.

We know William Shatner as captain Kirk and from Priceline.com but do you remember him as the cliché cop in the 1980’s series T.J. Hooker with his side kick Adrien Zmed?

Part II of this Sequel Didn’t Suck.

Sequels usually suck, but not this one: Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (2010) Part I of II.

Does anyone know where I can get English subtitles for Sealed With A KISS / 千山暮雪 (2011)?

SJ talks about why The Beast of Yucca Flats is one of the worst movies ever made.

While Dr. H may slacking off, we have a new contributor: SJ who is an expert in MST3K.

Dr. H Gets Reprimanded for his lack of reviews.

This country would go bananas if we had a unit like BOPE: Tropa de Elite (2007).

Mystery Science Theater 3000: Space Mutiny (1998) one of MST3k’s best watched bad movies in its 11 year history.

The Hunt For Red October (1990).

We here were graced with an actual cast member of a movie reviewed some time ago “King Rat” actually comment on the film.

Not as cold as Ice Station Zebra, but still the cold war: The Spy Who Came in From the Cold (1963) starring Richard Burton and based on the novel by John le Carré.

How cold could the cold war get? Pretty cold: Ice Station Zebra (1968)

The Cold War–A Tribute.

I was wondering what were Sam Neil and Mel Gibson doing in 1982? Then it hit me—they were making “Attack Force Z” (1982).

Part 2 of what the hell happened to Kim Ji-woon? The Last Stand (2013) hopefully the “Terminator’s” last movie.

A “reverse re-make,” Kim Ji-woon comes over from South Korea and directs “The Last Stand” the 2013 action film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. What the hell happened here? Part 1 of 2.

What does two men playing cards, $100,000,000 and a lot of clicking noises equal? The South African film The Gods Must Be Crazy (1980).

That is it; I’ve had it with Hollywood. Why? Simple their re-make of the 47 Ronin has already pushed me over the edge.

Gangster Squad (2013) starring Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Nick Nolte and Emma Stone. You’d think with this cast one could not make a bad movie, but you would be wrong this one really sucks.

The Gruesome Death of Angel Fernandez (no relation) or Scarface (1982) Starring Al Pacino, (a very young) Michelle Pfeiffer and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio making her feature debut and written by Oliver Stone.

Our guest reviewer and ex-military man TV look at Lord of War (2005).

A show from overseas that satirized recreational drug and alcohol use, then gathered a cult following here in America you say? Yes I do: “Absolutely Fabulous” a/k/a AbFab.

What do Spike Lee’s remake of the 2003 South Korean film Old Boy and Dr. H have in common?  Recognition that American films are in as deep a recession as the economy and Dr. H acknowledging that Asian movies have better scripts, stories and endings.

Yes Mr. Mamet we know you are clever.  “The Spanish Prisoner” (1997).  Our third look at actor Steve Martin in our tribute to him.

The second movie in our tribute to Steve Martin: Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid (1982).

It’s been awhile since we here at JPFmovies have run a tribute.  Let’s take a look at long time comic Steve Martin.  In the first of three films: They say two heads are better than one, but are they?  The Man With Two Brains, starring Steve Martin & Kathleen Turner (1983).

Too Big To Fail (HBO)

The fisherman versus the fighters: Ganryujima (2003).

Mel Brooks said it best in History of the World “It’s good to be the king,” or is it? The Masquerade King (2012) South Korea.

Hi I’m Phil Hartman, and you may remember me from such characters as Lionel Hutz, Attorney at Law and Frank Sinatra and the Sinatra Group. Possibly the best straight man in history: A tribute to Phil Hartman (1948-1998).

As children we are taught to be careful when crossing the street. That old adage is especially applicable when you are at Miller’s Crossing (1990), the Coen brothers third film.

Talk about getting the screw job–you’ve got to see this: The Betrayal (1966)

Sanford & Son (1972-1977) a ground breaking comedy created by Norman Lear and starring Redd Foxx, Demond Wilson and the theme song written by Quincy Jones.

Zatoichi & The Chest of Gold—It’s Gold Jerry (1964).

The City Hunter Part IIhttp://wp.me/pFzz5-v6

South Korea’s Dramas Have Come a Long Way and May Very Well Lead the Pack in Quality and Originality.  Apropos The City Hunter (2012) Part 1.

700 Days of Battle of us vs the Police.

Smokey $ Bandit II 1980

The Royal Tenenbaums http://wp.me/pFzz5-tb

The Devils Double

Falling Down (1993) There is Something in it for Everyone.

Old Boy (2003) you come out 15 years older after watching this film.

Yamada: The Samurai of Ayothaya (2010) and Dangerous this one has choreography for you.

A Kentucky Fried Movie (1977) a Movie that is as funny as Kentucky Fried Chicken is Delicious.

Elizabeth Olsen in “Silent House” (2012): Keep Quit If You Are Asked to Watch It.

Burn Notice the Series—Bruce Campbell Playing Bruce Campbell, from My Name is Bruce.
My Name is Bruce (2007)—and I don’t mean Bruce Lee.
Don’t Drink the Wine–It Does Not Taste Fine. Cary Grant in Arsenic & Old Lace (1944)

What does Bridget Fonda, a 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88 and Bruce Campbell Equal? Army of Darkness (1993)

Bullitt vs. Ronin for the winner of the best car chase scene around.

Apparently this guy is a neurosurgeon on Grey’s Anatomy. “Run” (1991) Starring Patrick Dempsey.

Iron Eagle—It should have dropped like a stone.

Another Break from Musashi–Dirk Benedict as M. Harry Smilac in “Body Slam” (1986). Lurking if you are out there this one is for you.

Samurai III: Duel at Ganryu Island.

Finally A Remake That Lives Up To The Original: Hara-kiri: Death of a Samurai (2012).

I watched the Zero Effect with Dr. H a few days ago and came to the realization that the JPFmovies original review of this great (yet sleeper) film was piss-poor and the movie deserved better. So here we go.

Jane Fonda you turned down making the classics Bonnie & Clyde and Rosemary’s Baby to star in Barbarella (1968)? A very courageous decision, I’ll never think of you the same way again.

I dont know about you but I wish they would hurry up with the English subtitles for Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai

Lone Wolf & Cub VI–We Still Need Closure or How to Get Your Daughter Killed.

Lone Wolf & Cub Five: Or don’t try to pass off a girl as a boy. It could cost you your head.

We are nearing the end here is number 4–Baby Cart In Peril. Or Tattoo wasn’t just a midget on Fantasy Island.

Number 3 Lone Wolf and Cub: Baby Cart to Hades (1972) or, don’t go to bat for a prostitute unless you really need to.

As Promised Here is Number 2 of our LW&C Extravaganza: Baby Cart at the River Styx.

It has been too long since we did a series. Well here is a real blast from the past Lone Wolf and Cub.

Jackie Brown The One I Didn’t Like or Watch it if You Like Smoking.

The Best $6,000,000 Hollywood Ever Spent: The Usual Suspects (1995), Or Double Indemnity Meets Rashomon.

Kurosawa: “The truth? You can’t handle the truth!” or, What You See is Not Always What You Get.

Vantage Point (2008) is no Kurosawa’s Rashomon, (1950)—but in all fairness what is?

By Request: The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension! (1984)

Someone read the JPFmovies list and commented to me that Miami Vice (2006) sucked—he thought all reviews were positive! Wrong, in fact I don’t think I did enough of a hatchet job so I am going to do a Miami Vice (2006) Redux.

Review Number 175! I am glad we made it. What are we looking at for this momentous occasion? My favorite Chambara actor Ichikawa Raizo in The Adventures of Nemuri Kyoshiro (1964).

Ok She said she hates Kill Bill. I say only little people hate and one should enjoy art for art’s sake.

Here is an another She said-He said format about Quentin Tarantino’s Kill films (2003). Here is the Bonnie’s “review” of Kill Bill 1.

Yes only 6-8 months late we finally get the Hero review written by none other than Bonnie! Savor this review we had to file suit to get this review done.

O.K. here is number three in our tribute to Producer Don Simpson: Beverly Hills Cop (1984). I don’t feel like as much of a sellout as I did for the Top Gun review.

Our second film paying tribute to producer Don Simpson: the 1986 blockbuster Top Gun. This is a tough review because the good parts are very good and the bad parts are inexorably bad.

Cannonball (1976) or Don Simpson why didn’t’ you sue the makers of Cannonball Run for copyright infringement?

Part 3 of 3: “The Ropers” the one that should be lost and forgotten.

Part 2 of 3 Looking At TV Shows That May Have Been Lost And Forgotten: The John Larroquette Show.

TV Shows that may be lost and forgotten–Part 1 of 3.

The Men Who Tread on the Tiger’s Tail (1945) Censored by the Freedom of Speech Advocates (the United States) until 1952.

Back by Popular Demand: Emma and Sally Review Monk While JPFMovies Slumbers at his Post (with input from Dr. H and Hank)

I think we discovered what happened to Mario Van Peebles: Posse (1993)

What the hell happened to Mario Van Peebles? Well in 1986 we know he co-starred with Clint Eastwood in Heartbreak Ridge.

A Cruel Story.

Part II of MacFarlane vs Judge—you be the judge.

McFarlane or Judge—You be the Judge of this Part I.

I can’t believe I announced that the next review was JPFmovies’ 150th review and I got back doored with My Fair Lady!

My Fair Lady: “It was funny and it didn’t have a lot of kissing.”

Rough Cut (2008)–Since Bonnie Can’t get her act together on Hero.

A Certain Killer (1967) Starring Ichikawa Raizo

Well since we are still waiting for our Hero review here is one I saw on the fly: The Interpreter (2005).

And you thought 9-11 was tough try this: Escape from New York (1981).

Our Next Tri-fecta is Movies Directed by Women!

Guest Reviewer Silver Gives Us Gold With His Look & The Dark Crystal (1982)

Well we thought it could not get much worse but we were wrong: The Chill Factor (1999)

Movies that had the budget but blew it: Chain Reaction (1996) I think Keanu Reeves ran about thirty miles in this flick.

That is right the co-founder of JPFmovies DT comes in from out of the cold and looks at 13 Assassins (the 2010 version) Or Vigilante Justice—Samurai Style.

Ever hear of a castle named after a bird? JPFmovies Looks at Owl’s Castle (1999)

Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law–Watch it even if you don’t like it it is only 12 minutes wasted.

Point and Counterpoint: Bonnie’s The Divine Weapon Redux

The General (1926)–By Guest Reviewer Silver E.

Now To NHK’s Musashi Part 2.

Movies 3&4 of the 5 Part Series–Musashi Birth of the 2 Sword Style and Musashi Miyamoto 4: Duel at Ichijoji Temple.

Duel at Ichijoji Temple (1955) a/k/a Zoku Miyamoto Musashi: Ichijôji no kettô.

Part II next movie fans.
